Week Five // Good Friday

A photo of something little...

...write about what makes it big.

A flower. Though they are small, they are apart of our daily lives and impact us. In my opinion, they are one of the best things God created. I love flowers! They are so beautiful and delicate and bring color to our world.
This was a short, but sweet Week Five post. I can't believe I am already halfway done!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The reason I am posting this so late is because I was singing in the Good Friday services at my church. I had a solo again! :) It was amazing. I cried when I heard the songs and the sermon. Good Friday is such a powerful day. I was having fun with my friends, singing for Jesus, and reflecting on His sacrifice because He loves us so much. It gave me this indescribable feeling. I can't wait until Easter Sunday when we can celebrate the resurrection!

Have a great day night! :)

A Linkup with Storyteller

It's a journal entry with the first theme: sadness. Go here to enter! :)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

April 14, 1899

Dear Diary,

It's a shame my first entry has to be so negative. But ever since the Great Fire, but life hasn't been very positive. Let me start at the beginning...

When I was younger, I lived with my family in a beautiful Victorian mansion in Virginia. We had several acres of land for our many horses and chickens and pigs. A river ran straight through our backyard. There were trees for climbing, fruit, and decoration. Every spring, the flowers bloomed. Every summer, our garden flourished. Every fall, the leaves turned golden. Every winter, the snow fell. Everything stayed the same and we liked it that way. Nothing came unexpected to us. We were prepared. But nothing could have prepared us for the Great Fire.

Oh, dear diary, thinking about the Great Fire brings back too many painful memories. I don't think I am ready to tell my story quite yet. But when I am, I will.

Sincerely,

Anna Marie Henderson

Words {A Sunday Devotional}

Do your words benefit those who listen?

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

~ Ephesians 4:29 ~

Do you have any siblings? Well, I have two... both younger than me. At the end of a long day at school and activities, the last thing I want to deal with is, "Jess, will you help me with homework?" or "Jess, can you make me dinner?" My sisters test my limits nearly every day. As much as I want to scream at the top of my lungs "Leave me alone!" and lock myself in my room... I don't. There are so many times when I want to call them ugly names or be mean... but when it comes down to it, I am their friend... easier to talk to than Mom and Dad, but old enough to be the boss too. if I say things that tear them down or hurt their feelings, no one benefits.

So, regardless of whether you have siblings or not... watch your tone and words. Only let joyful things come from your mouth. Remind yourself of the simple golden rule of "Treat others how you want to be treated." (Luke 6:31) Treat others with respect, and respect and joy are sure to follow.

Reflection: It is easy to say uplifting things to your friends. What kind of things do you say to people you do not like?

Application step: Today, pretend that the words you say are to God. What would HE think about being called stupid for asking a question in class?

Happy Palm Sunday! :)

The Cute Side #17

Wow. That was a lot of pictures! :D But I hope you liked them! I sure did. I am so amazed by what God created.
Today, at play practice, it was awesome! Us wolves ran through the Wolf Hunt and Dance scene where we chased and then "killed" a deer. It was so much fun! It was also really hot today and we were running around for hours! :D
Then, there is this part, where we have to lift Mowgli up and throw him. It was really hard at first and the poor guy kept falling, but we eventually made it work. :)
Argh, my Saturdays don't feel like Saturdays anymore. I don't get to sleep in at all. But now I'm on spring break so that will be good. Are you?

Have a great day!
