Poems

"Rainbow in Nature"

Red shouts from the robin's chest.
Orange warms the fire.
Yellow's a radiant, dazzling light.
Green is nature's desire.
Blue flings its life at the sky.
Purple enters the sunrise painting.
Pink whispers across the garden.
I love all these colors that nature's creating.

"The Cat"

She wakes from her dreams
And yawns
Her mouth opens wide
Like a lion's when she roars
She slinks across the room
As though she is a tiger stalking her prey
She jumps into my lap
I pet her, and she purrs
Then she climbs down
She crawls to the windowsill
For a bask in the warm summer sun
Soon she's fast asleep again

"Ice Cream"

Ice cold dripping
Down my hand
Yummy, frozen
Freezing, too
Flavors cold as snow,
Good and tasty, good as gold
Squishy, sloppy, too
So long, bye-bye
Wait!
Let's have another one
